Good Start to Summer

The past few days have been interesting. Sunday I ddin't do much besides buy 40 dollars worth of fabric for a quilt for a friend and go to my grandparent's for dinner. I met my cousins and aunt and uncle there. It was like 90 degrees and my grandparents didn't have the air on. It was hot, but I was used to it because I lived with them like that for 4 summers of my life... I miss those days when all I had to do was work at a horse farm, ride a little bit, and babysit my 3 younger cousins.

Monday, my first day back at Mcd, 5am came around and I was ready to work. I opened in grill, and was very surprised that I remembered how to do almost everything even after 6 months of not working there. Then the air goes out... again it was a hot hot day of 88 degrees. It's hot already in the grill area, even with the air on, but this was like you were stranded in the desert and delusional...but I got out at 11am so couldn't complain since it was short shift.

Brittany and I went to the beach and walked around later that afternoon. It was fun! I haven't hung out with her in a while since during the school year our schedules didn't match up at all. Here's a couple of pics:
I'm going to miss Lake Michigan when I am gone, I've had some pretty good times at the beach.
Today, I went out to lunch with my old bff from high school, Amanda. It was a lot of fun catching up with her. She's changed a lot, I don't know how to explainit, but it was a good change. I think that shes matured a lot more since high school, I'm hoping I can see her more before I leave, or before she leaves for Penn again. I also had some quality time with my dog, I love her sooo much! she found a new place to lay and its in this little area between our couch and the wall to the foyer.
I also took her for a short walk, I'm sure she was very happy with that! :)

Also saw the movie Just Wright today! Good movie! LOVE IT! so far this summer has been going well... and I hope it continues.... well good night
Much Love,

Home Again Home Again Jiggity Jig

It's nice to be home in Racine again, well at least for the limited time I have until I leave. My brother brought a friend over, or at least I think she's just a friend... But who knows because he isn't very open about all of the going on's in his life like I am with my parents. Part of me wishes he would talk to me, just so I know how he is doing. But I have to admit that we have become a lot closer since I have been living in Milwaukee for the school years. I can actually talk to him about things, and yes sometimes we do argue (isn't that natural for brothers and sisters to do though? lol). Any who, I like her and I hope she's around for a while.

Today, I was back not even for an hour, and we were rushing out the door to go bowl in a benefit bowl-a-thon thing for a daughter of my dad's co-worker. (Get that?) It was a lot of fun, I got to meet a bunch of people who knew me when I was little, and I didn't recognize any of them. Learned a lot about different kinds of shots/drinks too! No my life is not all about drinking and partying, I study and keep the important things in mind before I even think about going out.

I just really hope this summer goes well, I'm excited and nervous because each day passed is one day closer to leaving for Chile. It's not that I don't want to go, it's just that I am leaving my home and everything that I have ever known behind for 5 months. But  I was talking to a friend about it and he said that Isn't that the point.. I think our conversation got interrupted at that point since I don't remember what was said next. And now after thinking about it, I think that is the point. To fully understand and live with a culture You need to be submerged in it and away from everything else that you know because how can you fully appreciate something when you are surrounded by all the normal things that will give you a biased opinion...

It's not like I'm not going down there without my own opinions already because I do have some, I just think it will be easier to go down there without my other influences.. Who knows maybe I will finally find myself down there. Anyways I'm going to wish you a good night, and just cherish the moments I have left at home right now.

Hey

I just finished up my sophomore year here at the wonderful UWM. After spending almost a whole weekend on 12 page paper in Spanish for class, and studying for an incredibly hard exam in the same class, I realized I still had 2 finals left and was not yet done with school. So, struggling to keep focus I finished finals hoping that I am going to get good grades on them. Never again am I going to wait til the weekend before a huge paper is due to start it. Lesson Learned.

So with the school year coming to an end, I can actually relax this summer. I mean before leaving for Chile because I'm not taking a summer class, and am only working at the lovely McDonald's that has employed me for almost 4 years. I can say I hate that place and everything about it, but that would be a lie. I've learned a lot from that place over the years, like how to burn yourself nice and proper.. just kidding, although I have learned how to properly care for burns. (to take the sting away just slap a pickle on it, it really works!). I've met some great friends and people, I've learned how to deal with difficult people and what it means to stand on your feel for 8 hours.

Since not much is going to happen in my life until I do leave for Santiago, I have decided to make a Summer To Do List:
1. hang out with people/ Get Starbucks with the peeps
2. Go to madison a few times to see Doug and others out there
3.I guess, I can make my way up to Oshkosh to see Allie.
4. Finish the Buffy t.v show
5. Finish the quilt i started last summer
6. Start/finish another one...
7. Not go crazy by working at Mcd.
8. Have a party/ or two..

10. Apply and Get my student Visa for Chile/visit the lovely city of Chicago
11. Road trip to some random destination
12. Cook out at the beach!
13. Maybe make my way back up to Milwaukee at some point
14. Enjoy not having class/homework
